Happy Friday to me

Well, here it is, my "Friday".  One more night of work.  As the week progresses, I find my energy level goes down, down, down... even though my responsibilities stay the same.

I've just sold another pair of vintage eyeglasses, and instead of bounding out of bed this morning, putting on some makeup and whisking out to the post office to ship them, instead I made a cup of tea and a plate of fried eggs and curled up on the couch with my cats to watch "Lolita" on TCM.

The same splitting headache has been with me for two days running, and I've felt like I'm coming down with a cold, even though the cold itself has not materialized more than a slightly runny nose and losing my voice a bit at the end of the work shift.  I'm glad it's not the dreaded flu, but I could do without this headache.   I know a certain dear friend in the UK can sympathize with me there, and my headaches are certainly nothing to compare with migraines, so I'll quit whinging.

Okay, one more whinge - the damn redcoats showed up today with flags flying, and I was so hoping they'd swear off my battlefield forever.  I'm probably the only woman who wishes she was OLDER, just to have that overwith!  Why couldn't I be one of those women who goes into menopause early?  WHY?  Dammit.

In any case, I've played the lottery this week - the jackpot is over two hundred million - and since I've got the winning numbers, no doubt by this time next week I'll be sunning myself on the Riviera, not a care in the world.

Oh, and in case any of you were wondering...

Still no word from Misters McGann and Grant and Griffiths (I have to add Uncle Monty into this montage, don't I?)  Just you wait until I get the Wall-O-Withnail completed!  That'll get them for sure.

  1. For years I worked four days a week, with Fridays off. I used to have a Snoopy plaque I found somewhere that said, "Every dog has his day -- mine's Friday". I still have it downstairs on the bulletin board.

Hope the headache goes away soon. Take care, xoxo

    1. Thanks, CC! Headache is still here, but thank the gods I'm off today and tomorrow, so hopefully a good rest and lots of tea will set me right again. Am trying like the dickens not to worry about this snowstorm they're predicting, as I have to be up early for work Saturday morning and that's when the worst is supposed to hit. Argh. Hopefully we get a heatwave instead.

  2. In the South it's called being visited by "My red-headed cousin from New York.'" Why New York I don't know. Hope you feel better soon.
