There's barely enough snow on the ground to cover the driveway. Which means I have to go to work today. See, folks, this is what they mean when they say "be careful what you witch for".
Actually, as I only get six days a year to play with, aside from sick leave or actual vacation time, I have to plan them very carefully throughout the year so that I don't get stuck without any left when I need one. My job is an around-the-clock operation, so there is no such thing as a "snow day". If I'm unable to get to work due to snow, there goes one or two of my personal days.
I always try to save one for the Scottish Highland Games every summer, and for the occasional wedding or show or weekend "do" that crops up.
All in all, I'm happy not to have to take another day to spend slogging snow out of my driveway, even though I don't look forward to driving on slushy, icy, snowy roads this morning. I suppose I'm just getting a little tired of all this winter nonsense, and I'm ready for some spring!

Come over here - we had spring last week. Sadly it must now be summer because it's wet and miserable and cold again. But at least we havn't any snow or slush. Hope yours melts away overnight.
ReplyDeleteSigh... I wish I could come over there. Besides visiting with you, which would be the best part, there's also this: No matter what season it is in England, you're always within driving distance of Scotland! 8-)
